People aren’t disclosing they got mouth cold sores!!! There is such a huge stigma around this! I just got diagnosed and trying reallllly hard not to completely spiral

You and I share a very similar story. Receiving a herpes diagnosis can feel extremely devastating and that’s primarily due to the stigma and the meaning that we give it. And you are right you cannot heal an isolation. You definitely need a community of people around you that understand what you’re going through. Sending you love and light. 💚

People should also note that when you request a standard STD panel. This does not include Herpes (HSV). You have to request it or it won’t be tested for. Why people swear up and down their “clean” when it’s either dormant, not tested for or they assume a paper cut down there is just from shaving.

i just got diagnosed about a month ago and i still get really sick.. i’ve had 3 outbreaks in a month but recently i started healing my nervous system so im hoping it gets better… has anyone else gone through this? :( any tips appreciated pls

Living a healthy life without health issues is something we humans should all pray for. This is a short story about my journey to overcome a deadly virus called herpes. Honestly, I had tried many medications, but none helped me. it’s crazy, no one feels the crushing shame or the pressure to disclose when they get cold sores, but when it’s the same virus just on a different area of your body you get hit with such a stigma. knowledge of your positive status makes you a much safer person to be intimate with, because unlike the vast majority of people who carry the virus you are aware of what to look out for and what precautions to take

I understand how you feel but with that being said, maybe we all be cured of whatever bothers us and whatever illness we have but I can’t wait till they come out with the cure. This is BS.

I also have it but never had outbreak. its been sleeping all my life in my body system. 🤯 never spread that to anyone ever either. most people have it even If they have no symptomes . 🤔

i just got diagnosed yesterday. The stigma around is horrible but i can’t even cope. the pain was unbearable and it feels like a scarlet letter on my chest. 😞
