@thecarolejones: New AI laws start next month and could cost you $5,000 for each piece of content that is not properly disclosed as AI. And here’s what you need to know to avoid those fines. New York’s SB 8420 goes into effect June 8th and California’s SB 942 begins August 2nd. And just because your business isn’t physically in New York or California, doesn’t mean these laws don’t apply to you! If your business’ social media content, ads, or website are viewed by residents in these two states, these two laws directly effect you. If you have AI generated humans in videos, photos, or graphics, there must be a clear and prominent disclaimer on the content itself. And that includes content you have already published so you can either go through and add proper disclosures, replace it with real humans, or delete it all together. And no, the liability will not be spread to social media platforms or media outlets. Just the small business owners or advertisers. And, I predict that these laws will serve as a framework for future AI regulations across the county and hallelujah for that! #thecarolejones
