I didn't know alcohol could be addictive. So by 17 I was already addicted. We were only warned not to drink and drive, not that alcohol can cause withdrawal.

As someone who has addiction issues: it is a choice. One that you make day by day. Been sober for 4 years and not a moment goes by that I don’t want pills. I’ve had multiple opportunities to relapse but made the choice not to, despite how desperately I wanted to. Making that decision in active addiction is a struggle that you just don’t understand if you haven’t been through it, but it is still a choice to continue or make a change.

I don’t think ppl should be shamed for undergoing addiction. But also I have never understood why ppl do drugs bc ppl are constantly telling others not to do them. DARE just rly worked on me I guess (no hate tho, good luck on sobriety)

chlamydia is a preventable side effect of sex, addiction is quite literally the only consequence to doing drugs🤔

It may not be like any other addiction, like drugs or alcohol, but I used to struggle with an sh addiction. And it was bad. I couldn’t go just a few hours without it. Addiction is an illness, no matter what you’re addicted to.

I've been sober since Saturday. I'm 30. I've been drunk MY ENTIRE 20s. I haven't gone a day in 10 years without at least a beer or two. I'm done.
