Yes it’s true. No one truly gets it - not even our closest family members. Oftentimes it’s even hard for our closest non-medical friends to even get it. I’ve lost friends who didnt understand why I wasn’t texting back.

I worked on average about 100 hours a week in vascular fellowship for 2 years. Some weeks 110 hours. Residency easily 80. It was a blur looking back and I probably couldn’t do another single day as a fellow. It’s painful. But much easier on the other side.
