The amount of it is mind blowing. So many dumb people in Australia!!!...The amount of memes etc can't even be reined in by proving it is all incorrect. For some reason Small Business Owners or those wanting to be, appear not do plan, market research etc at the level needed for success... and they blame their poor decision making on the Govt. Govts can always do better but so too can owners or would be owners.😳😳

let's not forget, everyone playing up about this are complaining about going from paying 0-15% tax to 25-30%, like the vast majority of us. I'd love to pay 0% on my income tax.

As you say, the 25% is the company tax, if she wants to spend the money personally, she will pay the top-up tax to 47%.

Answer to Q1 - low unemployment = high wage costs. This is before factoring all overtime rates and payroll duties, super guarantee etc. if you are a start-up, this is cash burn. To reduce cash burn but offer risk-reward based compensation, employees are offered equity. Guess what? With the CGT changes, that equity will be worth half. So good luck retaining quality talent.

If the only incentive for you to start a business is to eventually pay half the tax when you sell, don’t start it

it goes in your name when you sell so it's taxed at marginal rate that's where the 47% tax comes from.

When are business owners going to understand that? Not paying themselves is a bad business model?

Billy | Financial Adviser :
Any businesses which succeeds and actually become “medium” in size, the small bus exemptions all vanish. Then you’re looking at the highest CGT rates in the world, and amongst the highest income tax rates. The private sector has been in recession in Australia for a couple of years now, these changes will accelerate that.
