@cold.sewer.engineering: Version 3 is officially real! I really need a new fastening method though :| #chronicpain #hypermobileehlersdanlossyndrome #heds #EDS #SpoonWrap
the body braid is so expensive. if you can get it under $100 I bet you'd have hundreds of orders in minutes

OOO! Contact Liberare Bras!!! they make adaptive bras for people with limited mobility/mobility issues and use these amazing locking magnets! i bet she would love to help with something like this! She started designing bras for her mom with chronic pain in her hands who struggled with bra clips.

one thing i’d consider is whether or not it rubs! one of the issues with the more expensive option is that it rubs pretty bad and that’s not great for people with a disorder that can cause fragile skin!

Talk to a physiotherapist first so you can make sure that your product is safe❤️

If I was you, id reach out to some departments at your uni and ask whether any students want to collaborate on this. I'm thinking OT, physio, or fashion design students, they might have some helpful contributions and are usually keen to get involved on projects like this! Really hope you can sell this!! I'm definitely interested

You should probably consult with an orthotist, occupational therapist and a physiotherapist to start. It needs to be safe and effective before marketing and selling. But props to you for showing initiative.

Contact the lady who makes bras with magnets for people with limited mobility! She's on here, but I don't remember the handle. I'm not sure if her magnets would hold this, but she'd at least have some advice

Is the elastic in it latex based? A non latex (silicone version) would be awesome for those of us who are severely allergic to latex.

there's an account making adaptive clothing on here with some interesting magnetic closures that i think would work similarly to the bra hooks but more easy to handle... unfortunately i don't remember the name but i'll come back and tag them asap (or if someone knows pls tag them?)

I have hyper joints. I’ve had several doctors recommend taping them, but unfortunately, I also have an adhesive allergy. This would be a life safer.

Oooh! My first thought: the material on that looks super uncomfortable and scratchy. A lot of people with EDS have comorbid Autism and sensory issues. The wrap has to be soft enough that it won’t cause sensory problems. Also, people with EDS often have MCAS, and some fabric can cause skin reactions. This is an AMAZING idea and I’m so happy you’re taking this on. I’d love to see more EDS safe gear - right now what we have is overly expensive and typically really ugly. It would be nice to have gear that is affordable and stylish.

love it! engineering problems I forsee - being too hot if it doesn't breathe well (our temp regulation is awful) and also on big bodies it could be hard to fit around curves and lumps etc - you're on the right track bud keep it up!

Hi, I’ve seen a lot of accessible clothes on my fyp lately, and something I’ve noticed most use is strong magnets, which allows people with hand mobility issues to fasten things like bras and clothing. I hope this is helpful! I’ve wanted a body wrap for years for my hEDS and it’s just completely out of my budget. I wish you the best in this endeavour, love from Australia! 💚
