@demonworksllc: GM's take on oil consumption: 1 quart per 2,000 miles is normal for daily driving. Aggressive driving? That jumps to 1 quart per 1,000 miles! #CarTips #AutoRepair #GM #EngineOil #CarMaintenance
Then explain to me why my 149000 mile Avalon burns ZERO oil…my OCI is 5000 miles.

Valvoline restore and protect is a legitimate game changer for GM oil consumption on those low tension rings. Sucks we even got to this point tho.

My 1996 2 door Tahoe with 243,000 miles uses less than 1/4 quart in a 5000 mile oil change....but a quart every 2000 miles is now normal?😳🙄

I call BS on that! no if they said 1QT per oil change then I wouldn't have an issue! the problem is every engine manufacturer is using weak rings to reduce friction and improve gas mileage and Subaru lost a class action lawsuit over it!

Ford has done this that I know of since 2000. I had a 2001 lightning that would burn oil and was told 1 per thousand miles at that time. I traded it off soon after and never looked back.
