@scottnsc: Hit me with your thoughts and opinions on this trip? I know it will be beautiful no matter which route we take, but I want lots of scenic spots on land as well. #cruisetok #royalcarribean #celebritycruises #carnivalcruise #alaskacruise
Out of those choices, I'd recommend celebrity. But if you're open minded, check out Princess or Holland America. They go to Glacier Bay, if that's a must see for you. I'd avoid Norwegian because they dock far from town in Ketchikan (in Ward Cove) and you have to shuttle to town which takes up a lot of your already limited port time. Royal, Celebrity and Carnival do NOT go to Glacier Bay. Hope this helps. Getting ready to take my 6th Alaskan Cruise, it's the best cruise. Very beautiful and scenic. You won't regret it!

Hear me out. As an agency that specializes in Alaska with over 1.5million in bookings annually for Alaska, I would consider other lines like Princess, Holland America or Seabourn. no one does Alaska like Princess and Holland. Both offer amazing cruises along with land and sea cruises that immerse you in Alaska not just drop you off at ports. If you do a precruise tour you’ll spend a couple of days in lodges up at Denali National park and ride a train down to your ship. We have been to Alaska 6 times and leave in 28 days for trip number 7. I would love to help you explore all of your options with first hand experience and knowledge. Send me a DM and we can chat on everything that is your must do lists. Our services don’t cost you anything and we give Onboard Credit as well as amenities for special occasions.

We did Disney in Alaska for our Anniversary and it was amazing. It had lots of stops and the ship is small enough to get close to the glacier. Disney has an adult only side but in September there were not many kids at all. We got a huge discount because we took the last sailing in September. All the souvenir shops had their merch on sale because it was end of season. We are trying Royal in two weeks but it don’t have near the stops. I can get back to you and compare them.

Celebrity Solstice southbound. Celebrity is Royal minus 1000 kids. Best food and entertainment. Great itinerary with 4 port stops and Hubbard glacier

I would do and land and cruise with princess cruise line. They have the best itineraries and have been the number 1 AK cruise line for over 20 years. If you only do an AK cruise once then do the land tour with it and really experience Alaska. You won’t regret it!

Think about Virgin Voyages as well. No kids. They just did their first Alaska sailing.

Princess & Holland have the most access/seniority in Alaska. If you were doing Caribbean, Carnival would be fine but not for Alaska. Of the 3 listed, celebrity is the best bet.

Princess, Holland and Norwegian are your best bets, especially Princess and Holland. They are the OGs of Alaska cruises.
