Is there a reason the shoe in the picture online shows a black shoe with rainbow but the ones on the conveyor belt that you’re showing are blue with rainbow?

The price changes there’s cameras in those specific price tags at the isle… it’s new technology. They face scan you and chose the price based on YOU!!! I know you think I’m kidding but do a little research. Walmart is not the only place doing this, but they are one of the places that does this. You can buy cookies for $3 and the next person buys the same cookies for $6

It is that big of a deal. The difference between a $3 shoe and a $18.98 shoe is more than two HOURS of work at the federal minimum wage. That’s a whole other can of worms…but literally working two more hours to pay for someone else’s mistake is a big deal.

Surveillance pricing is insane. Have a loyalty card, hang out long or return to a page or on an aisle, drive from a wealthy ZIP Code or always shop on payday? Your online cart have things in the save for later section, you have the newest smart phone? Their app doesn’t even have to be open on your phone, just installed. You have Bluetooth on (or even WiFi)? A beacon can tell exactly where you are in the store. Wally World says they don’t do it, but they have the infrastructure and have some patents pending.

Time to get your state’s Attorney General office involved, it would something like the consumer fraud division. In my state (Michigan) we have an actual scanning law. If you pay for something and the price doesn’t match the label price they have to pay you the difference plus a bonus of 10 times the difference (but it only goes up to $5)

That happened to me the other day too. I also noticed when paying cash if say your purchase is $2.21 it rounds down to $2.20 but if it's $2.22 it rounds up to $2.25 so they are profiting 3-4¢ on every cash transaction over 1¢ due to the penny not being made. I'm not convinced that pennies just disappeared overnight.

As someone who has a family of 6 with 2 needing gluten free stuff (which is usually 300% more than store brand) and 1 needing dairy free, this infuriates me! I spend hours going through digital coupons and I go to FOUR different store when I grocery shop for my family! I cannot afford it changing the price on me! I hate this….

They are relying on you being too tired to call them out. This needs to be legislated

This exact thing happened to me at Walmart about two weeks ago. I even took pictures to document everything and support my claim. I explained to the employees that, in Wisconsin, false advertising and misleading pricing are prohibited under Wisconsin Statute 100.18. Their response? They told me they didn’t care. I’ll be honest it made me feel about two feet tall. The economy is incredibly tough right now, and every single dollar matters. To some people this might seem like a small issue, but for many of us, it isn’t. When you’re budgeting carefully, unexpected price differences add up, and consumers deserve accurate pricing and honest advertising.

Remember when Wendys changed their prices for during “peak hours”? Yeah not patronizing any more retailers using strong arm tactics

Dynamic pricing is crazy and feels illegal (but not apparently?). It’s not enough that they make billions. Gross.
