@romainmuhammad_: Every time Britain enters crisis, the same thing happens. Not structural reform. Not accountability. A scapegoat. The Irish. Jewish communities. Black Britons. Muslims. Migrants. Asylum seekers. Different decade. Same script. People are taught to fear the people beneath them rather than question the systems above them. Because anger directed sideways is easier to manage than anger directed upward. That’s why the language barely changes across history. “Taking our jobs.” “Don’t belong here.” “Changing the country.” “Threat to British values.” The target changes. The function doesn’t. The real crisis was never the communities being blamed. It was inequality, economic instability, political failure, and power protecting itself. Scapegoating doesn’t solve division. It hides the source of it.
A) you are totally correct. B) your delivery is so beautiful. I thought this was a poem for a sec.

Bro, the stuff you are talking about. These 6 tooth rioters won’t understand. They will say you are not talking their language and will say you are not blended in their community.

you are amazing. as a teacher, I exist in one of the systems that is part of the problem. as an individual, I do everything I can to teach these concepts (I recently taught a scheme of work on poetry and chose poems that allowed me to teach some of this context alongside it). all I can try to do is make young people socially and politically aware and try my best to nurture curious, life-long learners who go out and learn about our corrupt systems in more depth, as you clearly have done. you're very inspirational. 👏🏼
