there's an SR-72 now.. reason it had refuel after take off was because on the runway, when the engine were heating up, the body of the plane would expand and most of the fuel would leak out before it even got up in the air.

if modified it could be an excellent fast small spaceship ideal for traveling to the moon

I think they should have kept one in service and working position. Who knows what the future holds. That is unless there are secret aircraft that are capable of the same and more. With all that has been seen I would not doubt it

I agree they should have kept it in service but NASA now uses it for high altitude testing it was retired from the Air Force and turned over to NASA and they still use it today

so I'll give a little history lesson about this plane my grandfather worked on this plane while jet it was ahead of its time back in the 40s 50s and 60s when they were first developing it after the U2 went down they had to have something better and they found it and it was the Blackbird SR-71 but they're actually is three prototypes to this aircraft there was a YF 12 I believe that's our 71 Blackbird and the last SR-71 Lockheed b that was produced only the blackberry 71 it was the only one that still remained in service because the other one is just they fell apart they were junk basically
