Don't do cake, weirdest tradition ever, all just for the 'cut the cake' photo you'll never look at again, save yourself some cash, no one's arsed no one misses it, best decision I made at our wedding

They’re around £500-£800 depending on the width, how many tiers you’d like, custom handmade flowers etc (I’m a cake maker)

Don’t even bother with one, people won’t eat it! Literally get a cheap one from a supermarket (nice looking one, that looks like a wedding cake) or just don’t bother. As honestly no one really cares or wants it. If you’ve given them a decent meal beforehand, they’ll be full and too busy dancing to go up for a slice! Unless you want to offer a slice of cake as dessert instead of an actual dessert for the venue to make. But then you’d have to figure out what is most cost effective. Cost of buying a cake and serving a dessert versus the cost for the venue to feed all your guests, which I presume you will have paid for within your venue fee anyway. So might as well leave it up to the venue to feed them with your dessert dish choose
