New technologies, which could be revolutionary are positive, are trained and deployed irresponsibly which results in avoidable inequities. It’s genuinely really simple, think of it like how we treat metal. Metal is used for both highly important, confidential military planes and stuff but also general consumer goods. So we make the highly important uses controlled by the government, and the more public uses public. With ai, we can subsidizes and keep control over specific national interest uses, but the general mass market slop has to compete in open capitalism.
