@paulcocksedgestudio: SPIRALLINGS ‘Spirallings’ originated from a single spiral: one form repeated three times. When these elements interlock, function emerges. Each spiral is a continuous line that travels horizontally before descending to form a leg. In isolation, each element remains incomplete. Only through connection do they become whole, resolving into a stable, self-supporting table. No single component dominates; each is contingent on the others, equal in role and necessity. We are accustomed to encountering marble as flat planes, a continuous surface rich with depth, veining and tonal variation. In Spirallings, the interlocking forms disrupt that continuity. The veining is fractured and redirected, disrupting the visual rhythm. “In this way, the marble resists stillness, becoming dynamic, animated, almost alive.” ‘Spirallings’ was on view throughout Salone del Mobile 2026 (Hall 22, Booth B16).
