THE SETTLEMENT REFERS TO PAST BUSINESS AND AUDITS - THIS DOES NOT EXEMPT HIM FROM ANY POTENTIAL FUTURE AUDITS ON FUTURE TAXES OR BUSINESS. Basically, it shuts down any current ongoing investigations because they were viewed as politically motivated “lawfare”

It's about already settled cases, not future cases against Trump.

As a non two party individual, I do not understand being emotional about political figures that you've never met in person, one way or the other.

The confusing part of this, is it’s not an immunity like they think. It’s about past returns that have been released without authorization. Future returns can be audited if need be.

That’s poor reporting. It doesn’t permanently bar him from being audited

the problem I have with all this is his personal lawyer is the attorney general acting and how can you sue yourself as he's being present I know the week happened while he was out of office but when he became president it should have been avoid and the guy that we get is in jail for 5 years the acting attorney general should step down becase it's a conflict of interest

I agree and, as someone who voted for Trump 3 times, I'm very uncomfortable with this precedent. No one should have their privacy rights violated, but neither should any political figure be placed above the normal regulatory and oversight processes every other citizen is subject to.
