@theasherhouse: These 2 horses, Romeo and Baron, came to us skin and bones from Oklahoma. In fact, most of our horses did. A couple of them unfortunately didn’t even survive the transport, and we were heartbroken at the time. They were a couple of neglected Clydesdales. I still think about what their life could have looked like if they would have made it here. The love they would have felt. The freedom and joy they would get to experience every day. The smiles they would have had…That’s what I want for every animal. I truly don’t know how or why anyone would ever want another living thing to experience pain or suffering. We all have the ability to help each other, to help animals, to be a voice, to be a light in some way. Every animal deserves to feel safe. To feel love. To lay down without fear. To know kindness instead of survival. And if we’re capable of giving that to another living being, why wouldn’t we? I think the way we treat animals says everything about us. At the end of the day, they don’t care about money, status, or any of the things we chase. They just want to feel loved. I think that’s what all living things want, including us. We all communicate it differently but underneath the masks and all the noise, every person, every animal, every living thing is asking for the same thing: love, acceptance, kindness, and safety. And every single one of us is capable of giving that away for free ❤️
