Many dishes come at an extra charge, as AI usually covers only the basics, while premium ingredients are paid separately. At some resorts, you may find several versions of All Inclusive - classic AI, soft AI, Premium AI, etc. I always recommend checking what each package actually includes, as the terms often change. At higher-end resorts, I have repeatedly seen an AI surcharge (compared to half board) of around $2,400-3,000 per week for two people - an amount that is very unrealistic to eat and drink through. It’s also worth remembering that it’s hot in the Maldives year-round, and people naturally don’t feel like eating and drinking that much. At cheaper resorts, where the price difference is small, AI can make sense. However, people often request it automatically without comparing BB, HB, FB and AI. The only real exception is Kudadoo, which offers a truly comprehensive All Inclusive but is also one of the most expensive resorts in the Maldives. I would recommend All Inclusive only if someone drinks a lot of alcohol, for example on a party-focused holiday. For a relaxing stay, especially with children, it’s usually not necessary - full board is often a better choice, and for couples, half board. #maldives #maledivy #allinclusive
