How about a dungeon that when you die you get sent back and any stuff you got from the dungeon is taken back and the dungeon is randomized

No no you see that but every time your characters die you respawn at the entrance to the dungeon without any weapons or gear but you level up each time. This would allow the game to still be interesting at higher levels and allow you players more creativity in their builds, especially because you could also let them swap subclasses every time they die as well.

Demonic heist :
This is literally just standard dnd just without any story/plot and at that point it just becomes a hack and slash which gets boring very quickly which 5e and the 2024 versions is built more around rp than actual fighting

Deathbound :
The Chronicles of the Deathbound uses some Homebrew mechanics i created to give that roguelike feel. death is guaranteed eventually, but each death allows you to reincarnate with a feat, proficiency, ability, etc. from your previous character carried over and permanently locked to all future incarnations. designed to create insanely powerful builds so they can eventually survive the literal gods they're one day likely to face lol

Don’t forget the part where when you are unalived, you lose all of your current loot and have to start from scratch… with a brand new character!

I mean, you could do it slightly differently if you implement runs and have levels and experience (literal memories or points depending on how you're leveling up) carry over, but then that's basically just a time loop story 😅

Your players think you plan things? DMs are always making things up as they go.

In my mind it’s more possible if the characters die along the way and can equip new items and loot after respawning as well as leveling up then

Nah i get it. Start at level 1. Each part of the crawl you unlock a new level. Each time you loot you “unlock” loot that will be available to be randomly given at the start of the next run. You can also meet merchants that randomly spawn. Different paths with different options. See how far you can get. Sometimes you pick the path with a TPK. Basically Slay the Spire with role playing, dice, and your friends. I think this would be really fun!!

Make it turbo hard with death a certainty and the the same bosses and have them keep the same stat block, skills and abilities. Each of them remember your previous attempts, similar to Hades for RP sake. Role a D100 for chests and items

you basically Described Shadows of Brimstone. it is a roguelike RPG boardgame, with map tiles that change every dungeon. tons of items, tons of enemies, and the dungeon is always generated as you walk through.

There are 1E/2E and 5E versions of the dungeon, going through every monster in the monster manual and in their corrwct biomes, with boss fights.

The idea for a rogue-like that I want to try is a time-loop dungeon. I want to basically "In Stars and Time" the players. Get to the end of the floor? Congrats! That means you leveled up. Tower of God style baybeeee
