@tracydennisitgirls: I grabbed Lee quickly after the screening for a behind-the-scenes chat, and it was one of those nights that reminds you why London really comes into its own — British artists all around you, incredible conversations happening everywhere, and the chance to connect with people creating meaningful work. I felt very lucky to be there. So after the screening and Q&A for his beautiful short film A Friend of Dorothy. I asked him a simple question about companionship and who keeps him company — and somehow that felt like the perfect reflection of the film itself. The story is so heartfelt, warm, and full of compassion that it genuinely stays with you long after the credits roll. I honestly thought I was strictly a true crime and thriller girl, but this may have converted me. At just 21 minutes, it already feels incredibly rich, and I’d love to see it developed into a feature film. With performances from Miriam Margolyes, Stephen Fry ( who hates true crime apparently! 😂) and brilliant newcomer Alistair Nwachukwu, the film carries such kindness at its core.
