Brenda gave us anthems like Vulindlela and Weekend Special that had all of Africa dancing and crying at the same time. She was bold, broken, brilliant — and forever the voice of a generation that refused to stay silent. We gonna always love you Brenda. She died on 9 May 2004 after a cocaine overdose led to cardiac arrest.
