I’ve done this and honestly I think it makes the book better. Have I had to rewrite to ensure continuity especially if they decide on a change later in the book? Yes. Yes I have. But it’s great!

That is what I’m doing for my first draft. I had this detailed outline that I trashed so I could follow my character. I don’t know if I will end up regretting it and rewriting later. I am having a lot of fun with it though.

I had been towards the end of my book and then I start writing a chapter but I need to go and change a few other chapters to make the current twist I just randomly came up with work! it's worth it and I always say trust your process cause you let your characters grow and you'll know if it's working or not!
