Born in Phillaur, Punjab (British India), he later migrated to Pakistan, where he became one of the most influential literary figures of his time. His poetry, especially in the ghazal form, is admired for its simplicity, emotional depth, and unique blend of humor and everyday language. Alongside poetry, he gained great popularity for his witty prose and travel writings. Ibn-e-Insha was associated with institutions like Radio Pakistan and also traveled widely, which inspired many of his travelogues.
