The group, mostly from the Democratic Republic of Congo, said Home Affairs delays and problems with permit renewals were leaving them undocumented. Home Affairs explained the renewal process and said it will help those who can prove they applied to renew their permits. Officials also reminded people with expired permits about the legal process they must follow.
