Exactly! It’s so sad because so many good players don’t have the money pay to play has to go

agree with majority of his comments, however, does he have any comments towards building a physical fitness model at 13. Not trying to push weight room, just fitness

No money in the system. No one goes to watch US soccer so the money cannot really trickle down from fans > clubs > youth system.

Yeah but uefa and premier league invest soo much money into the lower leagues. In America we invest in Football and Basketball and Tennis like that

It’s the access. The kids who get access to this training are rich kids. I’ve been playing and training since 2 years , all free programs aside from Jersey cost up until 11 and I only played club soccer ( elite competition and training ) for 3 years because it’s so expensive!! Therefore no eyes on my talent , I couldn’t be seen.

I agree with everything he said except the gym given how many exceptional talents have injuries preventable by quality conditioning

The old residency program should be the model for the mls academies… with the best players put in a national team environment residency. You can filter players in/out based on their progress. Also need to find a way to include the non mls academy players

The issue is when he says “good coach”. That’s the part the US is missing

Exactly, can we hire Thierry to reconstruct the whole entire system in the US? We have to toss our pay to play system. It’s not good, we need to restructure the whole thing, and fast. We have the talent pool 100%

Everywhere in the world, soccer is a profession. A means to get you out of poverty. So kids practice and play like their lives depend on it. Here in the U.S. it’s just a hobby. There’s no hunger.

With a son who is in this program right now called the Pole Espoir (Hopefuls Center). It is incomparable. Imagine at 13-15 yrs old learning understanding space, when to play the ball, playing to a error radius of passes of 50cm, tactical awareness, decision making all while going against the best players in the country. There is a reason that Paris France produces more professional football players than any other city in the world other than Sao Paolo. There is a reason France’s reserve B & C teams could realistically compete to win the 2026 World Cup.

Americans value scoring at a young age too much and that can often happen just because you have kids that are physically stronger at that young age and then that goes away as they get older

Youth coaches in America are bad too they value scoring over skill. And many don’t even know how to play soccer well.
