It is attached (fixed) to the floor. You cannot move it or pick it up. 2. A rug is smaller than a carpet. It is not attached to the floor. You can easily move it to another room or roll it up. Because of this, you can put a rug on top of a carpet! For example: The table is on top of a rug, and the rug is on top of the carpet. 3. A mat is very small. We use it for a special reason. For example: A doormat (to clean your shoes at the door). A bathmat (to dry your feet after a shower). A yoga mat (for exercise). Let’s review: Carpet: Big, covers the whole floor, cannot move.
