First step: understand the difference between topic (broad) and title (specific) ✅, although you’re going to write it as research topic on your thesis, when you structure a topic narrow it to a title. 2. Answer: What is the problem?…where is it?…who says it’s a problem?…when did it become a problem?…why is it a problem? and for the most of the final chapter where you recommend…you answer: how can it be solved or what can be done?……..before you know it, your research is over 😅, anyone in need of verbatim transcription 🙋🏾♀️I offer the service 🙂…Enjoy research 🧐.

Find a topic that you love or are passionate about. Because if you choose a topic just to get through the degree you will suffer the misery of studying something you not interested in. It is the most dreadful experience for early researchers that want to gain mastery in research.

My overall approach was to follow the 7 step process, which are 1.Understand the research process(like what Research require from you, what you are to jump into). 2.Understand what your university wants. Rubrics etc 3. Identify your broad interests. (as she mentioned e.g GBV) 4. Review past dessertations.(Similar research projects around that theme and see how they have tackle it) 5.Review the literature.(Find out how far that topic is researched and find gaps which will lead you to step 6 ) 6. Identify specific potential topics.( from checkin the literature you now can identify gaps and how far the topic have been researched and you can see clear picture of what is not covered and what is covered , sometimes the topic could've been covered already but not within SA context which it's nice way to defend and justify why you go that way) 7. Systematic evaluate each topic. ( on number 6 maybe you have find 3 potential topics , then evaluate them till you left with the one that really resonate with you and align with what you really want) 😂😂then is a long ride
