I do this when shopping for expensive items if I really like a TV and know it’s going to be expensive let’s say £650 in my head I say the max I’d pay is £900 then when I find the price is £650 it seems reasonable

Great video; but this is actually not true. The rumour when the iPad was still in development was that it would cost $999. Apple decided to play into this, and then showcased the actual price. Same execution but that’s real reason why they choose $999.
