My mom bought a $60 ring from a pawn shop in the costume jewelry section. It was so pretty she couldn’t pass it up. She went to get it cleaned and told them it felt too real so she wanted to get it appraised. It was in fact not costume jewelry but a $16,000 ring with real emerald and diamond

My husband bought me a “crystal and silver” ring from the 1800s at an estate sale for $75. Turns out the metal was white gold, not silver - and the rocks weren’t crystal, they were diamonds 🥰

A man on my street had a bunch of Star Wars collectables (like an entire closet full) and when he passed away, his mom had a yard sale with a bunch of his stuff including the Star Wars collectables. My husband saw and BOOKED it over there and convinced her to put all away and then helped her look up the actually prices and sell them online 😂 Poor lady had no idea!
