@corporatedropout_mom: Have you ever been a high performer getting the shove off in your performance review? Every year it’s the same thing. Dangling carrot of a promotion. A raise. They squeeze more work out of you and then tell you that you met expectations. They keep you in the same role and continue to push you to your limits. It’s almost like the whole performance review process is set up to make you do even more with the fake promise of growth. Ever experience this? #corporatelife #worklife #workhumor #officelife #corporateculture
And that was when all extra work stopped. forever.

I was the worst ranked employee and my boss told me i was a major pivotal point for the company and he couldnt do his job without my support. How do i know i was the worst. My boss did not know how to upload scores so he had me do it

I “met expectations” and they gave me a 3% raise. My coworker “exceeded” and was given a 3.2% raise…… Exceeds doesn’t seem to be as exciting as one might think.

It’s my time :
A few years ago I worked my ass off, volunteered for all projects and I ran trainings. In fact a senior leader was in a training and he was in awe. He called me directly and recognized me in front of all leaders. I got a meets and a 3% insult. From that moment to now, I do my job, I don’t volunteer. I do the min expectations. Oh did I mention that I got the same evaluations each year since. That said, I’m retiring in 11 days.

I love how they say they can't afford to lose you in your roll or give you a raise. but they certainly afford you quitting

they ask you "take on leadership tasks" so that they can push their work off on you and then tell you it was for your benefit

as the middle manager i gave you a 4, with a raise and then senior leaders changed it back to a 3 with a standard raise for inflation

After years of being an over performer and never getting a mediocre review, a new manager gave me 'meets expectations'. I immediately accepted a new job elsewhere. 😁

I’m so vindictive I have been screenshotting last years review and attaching it to the current year review with evidence that I did the things they told me I needed to do for a 5 the next year. (I asked them to write in the previous year comments how I could get a 5)

I asked for KPIs. I was told “we can’t give you those.” So now I’m just gonna do the bare minimum 🙃

something I learned from my dad because work is currently screwing him over....never ever take Initiative at work. it will only reflect badly on your mental health. do the bare minimum just enough to not get fired.
my dad didn't use to do the bare minimum and now, he ended up working weekends and during vacation leave with no extra pay just because "he is the only one who knows how to do it" which is not true

This. I was given a 3 after completing extra training and certifications etc. Pulled back. Watched someone less qualified get the job that I had basically been doing for months. Pulled back again. Got a 4 on the next year's evaluation. I think they just make shit up at this point.
