yes to this!!! my grandad's aunt died from sepsis caused by a second trimester miscarriage in 1918 in Utah. She left behind four young children who were then put in an orphanage. One of them then chose to end her own life in her 20s, another died age 17 in prison, and another spent his life on the run from the law. Only one of the four had a decent life. I always think about what their lives could have been like if there had been better women's healthcare in place.

my grandmother thankfully survived, but she developed sepsis in the 60s due to a missed miscarriage. She eventually bled out and needed countless blood transfusions and the priest gave her last rites twice. She lives long enough to see abortion legalised in 2018, which meant that missed miscarriages could be treated BEFORE they became a risk to life. I think of all the people that were not as lucky as her.

Hi so in Poland we actually still don’t have a right to make an abortion (even if fetus has no brain - it still has to be born) 🥰🥰🥰

None of my family (that I am aware of) has had an abortion, whether an illegal one of otherwise. However I do know that plenty of female relatives have had children or has miscarried children they would’ve otherwise aborted if it was legal at that time ☹️(Emoji because it’s upsetting they were forced to go to term, not that they would’ve recieved an abortion)
