I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately because I no longer have that same excitement I felt as a child/teenager when picking up a new book. I’ve spent the last few years carefully creating my life and making it more comfortable, and no longer feel that neat or desire to escape like I used to.

Tolkein talks on the Faerie stories and explains why it's important for some to retreat for self preservation. I'm OBSESSED with LOTR and The Hobbit rt now. Finding those subtle realms keeps some of us sane.
