I used to work at CarMax stop buying your cars from these place and if you have to, take it on the test drive and go to a mechanic. If you have local schools who have automotive trades schedule ahead of time so they know to expect you and then take the car to them.

I did my trade in with carmax online. I had a 2017 Nissan Rogue w/125k miles on it. I told them about the physical stuff (crack in windshield and I just had it repaired from being rear-ended.) i submitted all the required pictures to them. I didn't mention the drooping drive shaft or the fact it needed a new $5k differential. CarMax gave me $7500. 😂
