@ustheremingtons: Actually not as bad as the hole I got punched out of my vulv@ last visit 😂😅 Lichen sclerosus is a chronic skin condition that causes pale, white patches on the skin, most often in the genital and anal areas, leading to symptoms like itching, pain, and in some cases, scarring. While the exact cause is unknown, it is believed to be an autoimmune condition possibly linked to genetics, hormonal changes, and past skin damage. The primary treatment involves topical corticosteroids to manage symptoms and prevent progression, and ongoing care includes gentle hygiene and moisturizers. Lichen sclerosis has literally become my life because I have to manage it daily as it went undiagnosed and misdiagnosed for so so long! Grateful to finally be in such incredible care. Dr Leclair truly makes me feel heard, is so patient, and so gentle and understanding. Trust her with my life! #lichen #womenshealth #womenshealthcare #obgyn #momsover30

As a nurse— thank you for being so vocal about this. People are embarrassed and don’t talk about. So you are offering them support and educating people like me so I can understand the concerns better of my patients.

my boyfriend is in PA school and just finished his OBGYN rotation, a patient with lichen sclerosis wouldn’t let him participate in her appointment (very valid, i would’ve probably done the same) so i showed him your videos, the information you gave helped so much to better his understanding!

Since you have been going through this for so long, did you ever notice having flares during the more hormonal times of your cycle? Like around ovulation and your period? Is that common for lichen sclerosis?
