@hamstraveldiary: Exactly 4 years ago I was driving across country probably in Oklahoma or Texas so I figured I’d make a little recap because WDYM it’s been 4 years?? This was the best experience ever and I plan on doing it again at some point. The way I did a roadtrip was not budget friendly but since I had never driven long distances before and as a solo female traveler inexperienced with driving across country I played on the safe side and stayed in hotels (cheap ones) most of the time. The one thing I would change: seeing more national parks and monuments. Some things were closer by but I didn’t go out of my way and I wish I did now! Highlights of the trip: The views. THE VIEWSSS I mean the geological and ecology diversity of the US is insane. The food. For breakfast I was eating cheap packets of oatmeal with sunflower butter and chips but once I hit Texas and up to Utah there was such good Tex mex and Mexican food. The freedom. I was on my own schedule so I could change my trip if I wanted to or take detour to see random things! The people. Everybody I met was so friendly :) #roadtrip #nationalparks #travel #fyp
A solo road trip across states is the most formative thing a girl can do 🙌

That is all so fun and such an awesome way to have gotten the travel and hiking bug! Love learning stories like this. And so relatable in so many ways—and how to just *own* it. Keep up the life!
