I’ve realized that it will feel like you’re still waiting for them because you are wallowing in it. for example, I was drinking energy drinks he liked and listening to music that reminded me of him and telling myself I needed him to feel happy again and I some days were good and I felt nothing but over time it was me pushing away the fact that I won’t let myself forget him. It being nine months in the past sometimes hearing things about him hurts but not how it used to, I mean I used to have to put my head in my hands at the thought of him or one of our memories, it hurt me so bad but I didn’t let myself wallow forever. Today I am fine that he has a new girlfriend, fine that he keeps talking crap about me, fine that he blocked me, and fine that nothing will happen between us again. Whatever you do don’t rush it, rushing it will take longer and months later you find yourself feeling the exact heartbreak you felt the day or week that it ended/happened.
