Call the Midwife only uses real newborns and they use about 70 per season, & they're on their 15th season. They have a whole unit dedicated to it!

I absolutely understand why but I can’t stand when a “newborn” baby is very obviously like 8 months old

I don’t know if I’m more amazed with the information that you share or the fact that you had a prop baby on hand.

Call the Midwife is a show that’s always had the most realistic newborns in my opinion.

In older movies they just put a 6 month old in the mothers arms and pretend it's a newborn 😂

In Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1, they used a real baby during the birth scene and they covered her in strawberry jelly and cream cheese and the directors of cast, I forgot who, said that they would have to pause the scene because the baby wasn’t crying because it was tasting the strawberry jelly.

My mum worked in tv and I was “born” on tv on a famous Australian drama - but I was clearly way older, like 1-2 months because I could hold my neck up 😂

my friend had twins born 12 weeks early. they have been in several movies and still are in a few small parts as 3 year olds. I love getting the inside scoop on what they will be in before it is released

I wonder how casting goes for this? Do they coordinate it with a woman while she’s still pregnant? Or after she’s already given birth? And do they have open calls for infants or is it done through a referral internally?
