hey so no major medical for trans people are done before 18, unless its a emergency. typically hormones are reverseable and doctors will also tell you the side effect. Hormones and such do save lives just keep that in mind but I totally get it.

Im just saying this but in no way am i trying to dis your opinion i just want to say my sister figured out she was trans at i think 13-15 and she was helped straight away with hormone blockers and she never changed her mind and its much easier for it to be done when your younger before the main hormones come in you can of course do it the way you choose i just wanted to say this

i think this should really depend on how old they are when they come out. If they figure it out at a very young age and are still confident a few years later, hormone blockers can literally safe lives. They are entirely reversible and can even prevent some surgeries that might need to happen otherwise (e.g. top surgery).
Hormones and surgeries are usually not allowed under 18 in most countries anyways, some do allow them at 16 with consent though which only happens after extensive therapy and consideration so that everyone is sure that the child won't change their mind

totally. I'd probably do about 16-17 though if they come out early. for example: I've known since I was 10 and came out at 12. I know what getting hrt requires where I live. you need multiple psychologists to recommend you to another psychologist who doesn't know you at all and get a non-biased opinion. they consider that it might be a reaction to trauma as well, they want to know everything about you. I've been on hrt since around December last year and am now 17 and genuinely happy for the first time in years.
please keep in mind that this is only if my child thinks that was for a long time. I would not allow it if they figured it out at 15. it might just be a phase. obviously I won't be the parent to tell my kid it's a phase, but there are a lot of people online who did think they were trans and then it ended up being a phase.
