so, it's not excessive. the suspect had a gun and fired at officers trying to kill them. deadly force is authorized at that point. even after being shot, he never dropped his weapon. if the suspect still has a weapon, then they are still a deadly threat. they fired until he dropped it because obviously he wasn't listening to words.
