i have a degree in earth science, why anyone continues to exalt natural diamonds as some extraordinary rock is crazy to me. there’s so many more beautiful, more unique stones out there, and lots that are also more rare!!

now why the fuck would i want a real diamond? to carry around an extremely expensive rock that my naked eye wouldn’t be able to distinguish from a less expensive lab grown rock? even if real diamonds were ethically sustainable i have way too much anxiety for all that

Old jeweler here: they’re also better BECAUSE they’re made in a lab. the heat and pressure is heavily controlled- so inclusions are less common and your diamond tends to be more visibly bright due to this.
