I use a double uni (Fishin Fool) knot, or the San Diego Jam knot. Palomar is good, but there are better knots. This is good (not great) for mono.

this is the only knot I've used since the guy's at Berkley came up with it. works on every line, and if tied in the right position it's the perfect knot for a drop shot rig
