@grantleegolf: You need to asses your lie before choosing what shot you are hitting around the green! If the ball is in thick rough and sitting down you need to play a completely different shot than if the ball is sitting up. If the ball is sitting up like it is in this example you need to take steps to avoid going under the ball. Feeling a sweeping motion or like you are almost swinging up just a hair is a great first step. Pair this with the club face closing through impact and you’ll get rid of a lot of the poor shots where you go right under the ball #golfchipping #golfcoach #titleist

I personally love the thicker grass around the greens, I feel there's a bit more forgiveness due to hitting it hard with an open face. My trouble is the super tight, usually wet to almost muddy grass around the greens. What's your explanation/tip to navigate that type of lie?
