@ghaneh_f: Marked hepatic steatosis can create a major ultrasound pitfall when evaluating focal liver lesions. In a fatty liver, soft tissue masses may appear relatively hypoechoic with posterior acoustic enhancement, mimicking a simple cyst because the ultrasound beam penetrates the lesion more easily than the surrounding echogenic liver. In this case, the lesion was FDG-avid on PET and represented metastatic disease in a patient with breast cancer. #radiology #foamrad #foamed #ultrasound #liverimaging
