Completely different ceiling. But one requires learning something tedious. And let me be honest about my own work, because people romanticise it. Building a website is not just building a website. There is a whole process before you touch anything. Drafting the contract. Writing a clear scope of work. Negotiating. Invoicing. Following up on payment. Managing the client when they become difficult, which is where emotional intelligence comes in. Most people do not want to do that. It is boring and tiresome. That is exactly why it pays. I listened to a man in garbage disposal talking about his figures and I was genuinely surprised. Nobody looks at that as an attractive career, because it is unglamorous. Meanwhile he is eating well. Meanwhile everyone floods Nairobi looking for jobs that do not exist. Ask an office worker what they actually did today and many cannot tell you. Ask a freelancer in social media management and they will list it. Shot videos for a client. Built a Meta ads campaign. Handled the content calendar. Boring, tiresome work. And that person charges 40,000 per client. With three clients, they are eating properly in this city. So chase the boring things. Learn the tedious processes. Do what others avoid.
