My mom got her diagnosis at 68. Now at almost 70 she’s finally getting to live her life on her own terms. It’s tragic but beautiful to witness her true self be acknowledged and her not just get to live but also live to love her life. I’m L2 and my mom and I now have the best most fun and fulfilling relationship too. Now we’re both living to the fullest. We’re finally free!

I'm not going to lie I always felt different from society and it was hard to make friends and I recently got a psych eval 3 days ago now waiting for results, that will take 1-2 weeks I hope I get a diagnosis

Sadly I masked most of my life and wasn’t diagnosed until 42 now I’m 44. But at least I have answers to why struggled so much as a kid and now as an adult dealing with work life is very draining.

It’s been a great starting point for me, I just need to learn to accept myself for it and stop being so hard on myself. I’ve spent my whole life putting myself down for not meeting standards and disappointing people. Getting my diagnosis was my understanding and relief of it, but it’s still met with people putting me down. My explanations are seen as excuses and it’s horrible to hear :(

I totally agree. Prior to my diagnosis, I was in a very poor state of mental health. I had tried to end my life 4 times, because I felt so worthless. Nothing made any sense. I was 56 when I got diagnosed and if I could have one wish, it would be that no one, male or female, ever has to suffer the way I did.
