@bryce_turner0: Weird habits that would make you healthier 👇 1. Eating with your hands: Touching your food engages more of your senses which can improve your connection to the food, overall satisfaction, and even your body’s anticipatory digestive response for better digestion 🥩 2. Standing barefoot outside: Being physically connected to the earth transfers negatively charged electrons into the body, acting as a natural antioxidant. There are so many benefits to grounding at every level, get outside barefoot 🦶 3. Staying away from sunscreen: Sunlight is not the enemy! Certain chemical sunscreen ingredients (like oxybenzone and octocrylene) are toxic for humans and animals and can be absorbed through the skin. If you use sunscreen, use a natural one with ingredients like beef tallow and zinc oxide ☀️ 4. Eating ice cream daily: Not all ice cream is created equal. Homemade real-food ice cream made with raw cream, egg yolks, quality milk, and honey or maple syrup is actually a nutrient dense superfood! 🍨 5. Removing skincare products: More products ≠ healthier skin. Overdoing fragrances and constant product layering can irritate the skin barrier. Most people would benefit more from focusing on sleep, stress, nutrition, hydration, movement, and sunlight than on a skincare routine! 🧴 6. Working out without music: AirPods and other bluetooth devices emit radiofrequency radiation that can, over prolonged periods of time, cause serious health risks such as the permeation of the blood-brain barrier. Along with that, most people listen to music at a volume that is damaging our ears and hearing ability 🎵 — #healthyswaps

As a kid, we pretty much did have this diet and we worked hard so we exercised without music most of the time I felt left out because I couldn’t go to restaurants or anything but I’m glad I didn’t

Humans evolved to be able to handle a certain amount of of sun exposure. That’s why different groups of people around the world have heavily varying amounts of melanin in their skin, depending on if they live in places with a lot of sun exposure, or a small amount of it. but in the modern world, a lot of people live in places that are very different from the places where their ancestors evolved. for example, a white person whose ancestors come from northern Europe, who is living in the southern United States, is dealing with a far higher amount of regular sun exposure than their skin evolved to handle, and so a certain level of sun protection is a necessity for that person, rather that protection comes in the form of clothing or sunscreen.
