Shoulder dystocia with my firstborn child. He was only 6 pounds 4 ounces. The only person who yelled was my OB. My mom, husband and several nurses were quietly crying. Lots of staff on standby very quiet.

My grandma had anesthesia awareness during her knee surgery and when she told the nurses she liked whatever music they were playing the nurse looked at her so serious and went “do you want to sue?”

My husband was a football coach and we had our baby on a Friday during football season. At the c section (which was at 7am), he leaned over the table and said “awesome, I can still make the game tonight” there was silence in the OR. He did not attend the game 🤣

My daughter was sick for three years. Had tons of test and they always said it was not Crohn’s. She was 14 and weighed 65 pounds because she was vomiting daily. She ended up in the hospital again and they finally realized it was Crohn’s. It was a teaching hospital so the dr that had been a jerk for years comes in with ten student doctors to tell her. She looks him in the eye and says, “So when I told you three years ago it was Crohn’s and you told me I was wrong, YOU were wrong!” Nobody moved or spoke. Later the nurses brought her ice cream and told her she was a legend! They said the doctor is always a jerk and she was the only one to stand up to him. SHE WAS A CHILD BUT SHE ROCKED HIS WORLD! I was shocked but so proud of her!

I’m not a healthcare worker but right after the attending doctor told me I was having “Braxton hicks contractions” I gave birth in the parking lot. 13minutes after discharge.

I'm not a Healthcare worker BUT I made the entire OR pause when I saw my daughter after my emergency c-section. A week b4 having her they estimated her at 6lbs 4 Oz. She came out at 8lbs 11 Oz. I looked at her and said "that's not my baby, that's a toddler!" They paused, then started laughing.

When I was in labor with my daughter, my contractions completely stopped and they were talking about sending me home. My husband (now ex husband) said “If you don’t have the baby today, I’m not coming with you when you finally have it”. Dead silence in the room full of nurses and my doctor.

I woke up during ankle surgery. I looked at them, they looked at me. It was very awkward. My surgeon asked if I felt any pain. I told her no, just pressure. And back to sleep i went. Apparently I have a resistance to medication

I have a kitty tattoo and the nurse had rubbed my arm to calm me down I guess and she touched where the tattoo was and was like I’m petting your cat 🧍🏼♀️she was like uh that sounded weird & it was a quiet and then we all started laughing🤣

Not a healthcare worker, but when I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease my dr got emotional reading through my blood results with me, I was severely anaemic but still going to work full time and barely functioning. My haemoglobin level was 70 g/l & my inflammation markers were through the roof. She put her hand on my shoulder and said “you must be so exhausted” it was the first time in months I felt seen, because I WAS exhausted 😭

Been anemic all my life but one time my crit count was 5.3. Doctor double checked my chart before asking how I was standing. I told him caffeine and will power cause moms don't get breaks.

During my 1st open heart surgery was hearing their conversation regarding a vacation coming up, when I woke up I was telling them I heard them they laughed until I said “ o yea then why don’t you take me to Aruba with you” blank stares from my surgeon. Hahaha

Just after giving birth to my first child, my husband and I were just looking at him. The nurse walked in through the door as my husband says "He looks like my brother." the nurse spun around and walked back out. Didn't say a word. I had never met his brother 😂😂😂
