This place was never built to charm. Founded by Transylvanian Saxons in the 12th century, Sighișoara was designed to endure pressure, hunger, and threat. The Clock Tower, rising since the 1300s, served as gate, prison, armory, and timekeeper, its mechanism still counting days with monastic discipline.
