@zachary_abroad: This has been a HUGE problem for us in Portugal … It’s not visa issues, or culture shock … it’s ordering things online. It feels broken. But maybe it’s just the way we are going about it. I learned a life hack that will make this problem go away, and listen on, because it might help you too! Don’t make the same mistake!! Are online orders an issue for you too here in Portugal? #portugal #movetoportugal #cultureshock #lisbon #moveabroad
Yes, yes yes! CCT will often say that you were not available. And sometimes they will even do it twice! And your package is returned to Amazon. I started using the pick up location near my house and it’s been the best decision yet! Good luck, my friend!

When possible I try to use the pick up points… we also had to learn this.

We only order to pick up points because they do the same in Denmark

Yeah, that goes away once you get settled a bit. And then comes back juuuuuust often enough to get warm fuzzies about how much fun it was! 🥰

Yes it is. Not the CTT but others like UPS or DHL. It’s very annoying. I usually go to the atore to buy things instead.

Discovered that most of the time they call me - and sometimes just to know where to go. Loved the phone call. Done the drop off locations lately too as one never knows when the real delivery date will be.

This happens to me all the time in Canada. Maybe the workers want a break? Eventually my packages end up at the pick up point. But feel your pain!

Same issue here in Sweden. Ordering home delivery doesn't really work, just choose pick-up point and go there.

When they get to your door, they normally phone if you don't answer the doorbell. They normally also phone or send a message informing the things will be delivered in 30m.
Pick up points are a good choice, but I think you just had bad luck with that delivery.
By the way, Jysk and Homa are nice Ikea like furniture shops you can visit.
Not expensive and very nice.
Enjoy our country!

unfortunately yes, it's a lot more common than it should be... I have a online store and this situation is recurrent. Choosing delivery at a pick up point removes the stress of the uncertain waiting time. They'll let you now when your parcel gets there.

CTT Express has been wonderful for me and I have had 81 orders in the past 3 months alone. UPS never completes deliveries and returns to sender every time.

It's in a lot of big cities all throughout Europe. But this is a city thing, not a Portuguese thing. In the country-side in Portugal I've never experienced it. They will even call me saying they'll be there in 15min.
