It's really sad how we never get over those comments from our youth.

So sad 😞 I’m 31 and I’m still insecure about my arm hair because of a girl that made fun of them in middle school

mmhm... I started shaving my arms in 8th grade bc the other girls made fun of me. I naturally have dark hair so it shows more. probably why I still shave my arms to this day and have anxiety if I feel like I have hair showing on any part of my body other than my head.. im 35.

Proof that 'It was just high school/middle school' was in fact NOT just middle/high school. People think you should get over anything that happened back then, that a bully saying their sorry should make it all better and you should forgive them....
*School was 5 days a week, 7hrs a day, more if you were in clubs/activities. Probably saw teachers/classmates as much or more then family members. Those years shaped people more then some think, those traumas stuck with you as much as any at home trauma would.

The kids in elementary school pointed out the hair in my arms - so I shaved them in 2nd grade - they then made fun of me for having prickly arms 🤷♀️

People don’t realize that things said to you stick around longer than you think and that pain is very real.
