@coach.rac: Make baseball magical again. We should make youth baseball magical again, and it starts with the adults/coaches to create an environment that allows a safe place for kids to just play ball.

I love what banana ball (and nyabc) has done for everyone, especially the youth. I now prefer to watch banana ball, especially the Savannah Bananas, over MLB. I have heard the critique from MLB players and I think that expressing the differences between the leagues is important, which may be being done, I have no idea. But overall, I think that the spirit that banana ball brings to youth and adults is what we need in this world more than other options out there. So keep doing your thing and inspiring. The personalization the banana ball and nyabc has brought to fans of all types is unmatched, and I hope it continues for many many years to come.

I had amazing coaches in rec ball. I wanted to work hard to make them proud and it was fun. Now, my youngest softball coach (it is in all age ranges for this travel ball team), they don’t want to teach during practices. So the games happen, and the girls are like a deer in headlights because all they know is to throw to first. The catcher, doesn’t even know when to grab the ball. The pitcher ends up grabbing it. My daughter was starting to have a fear of the ball. The coach wanted to kick her off the team because they were so afraid she gets hurt. After a week of us really working with her, she is fine. Yes, it is 8U. But teaching and allowing them to grow in the sport is more than just throwing to first. 😩
